Craft Supplies

Hey crafters!
I got some cool craft supplies from Tesco today. They have beautiful fairy papers in there for under £3 which is a total bargain!!! They are absolutely stunning and I hope to alter a box with them soon.
I also got some stickers and a lovely set of paper with pearl colours in it - beautiful :)
Also 3 for 2 on large gems which will make beautiful butterflies (I'll post a picture when I got round to making them).
If you have a tesco near you, pop in. You'd be surprised what they have!

All about animals.

Hi guys,
This may not  have anything to do with crafting but she's so cute that I had to show her to you.

This is Mabel, my beauuuutiful lionhead rabbit. She's 4 years old and a real grumpy lady but she's beautiful so she can be as grumpy as she wants. I love her to pieces and she loves me back as long as I bring her food hehe.

Now then, this was leading on to the clay animals I've made. I don't use clay often but I thought these were pretty cool.

I like to experiment with different crafts :) If you don't try it then how will you ever know if you're good at it or not?

So my message to you is this: try something new today, you may just find yourself a new hobby!

What I've been making lately.

Hi guys,
So I thought I'd share what I've been making. I got obsessed with beaded jewelry with charms... Seriously, I made all these over 2 days which is crazy. Actually, I made them to sell so if you see anything you like drop me a comment here or an email to alholmes09@gmail.com and I'll happily sell them to you. I'm in the UK so shipping prices will depend where you are but I combine postage so it's not going to be too bad :)

 £10.00
This bracelet took me sooo long to make so I think the price is very fair. This is a spiral and bead bracelet with clasp fastening. The way it moves on the wrist is very pretty indeed.

£5.00
This gold and pearl coloured bracelet is elasticated for a comfortable fit. The tibet silver wing charms sit on either side of your wrist nicely.

£6.00
Chunky silver and black beads really set off this tibet silver strawberry charm nicely. Again this is elasticated for comfort and will easily fit a larger wrist as well.

£5.00
This bracelet is one of my favourites. The beads are two shades of pink and it has a pretty Snoopy charm in tibet silver. The way the light reflects off the beads draws attention to this pretty bracelet.

£6.00
Any horse-lover would adore this as a gift. The chunky beads are arranged in a whimsical manner with no set pattern so you see something different every time you glance at it. And the large lucky horse shoe charm makes this an eye-catching item to have.

£3.50
These earrings are so darn cute! Little handbag charms on a short twisting chain would be perfect for day or evening as they are simply silver and completely elegant as well as being fun at the same time.

£3.50
These earrings come with a little piece of info on me, in a way. They were inspired by the tattoo I have on my back and as soon as I saw these charms I had to make the earrings! The chain is longer on these as it adds drama to the small footprint charms. Oh so cute!

Shameless plug for my crafts but hey it's my blog hehe ;) I'll update soon with some more jewelry or things I want to make in the future.
Happy crafting,

Craftster Swaps

Hi guys! So the first post here is going to be about craft swaps. I'm part of a forum (craftster.com) where themed craft swaps take place. Right now I'm in 4: Pirates Of The Caribbean, Brothers Grimm, Japanese Cuteness & Ongoing Wish Swap 72. I've already posted the packages for the first 2 so I thought I'd share what I made for them.

BROTHERS GRIMM SWAP

I made this based on 'Rosebud' which is basically Thumbelina. The base is a chipboard coaster covered in green and white checked paper. The flowers are made of patterned paper (I bought these from Dunelm Mill). The flower itself is felt which I hand stitched together and glued onto the base. In the center is a little doll that can be removed. She is made of pipe cleaners, a pompom and felt as well as two brown beads for her eyes. All in all this took me just over 2 hours to make as I had no patterns to work with, only an idea.
I think she turned out rather nicely though.

The two pictures above are of the same miniature I did on the theme of 'Cinderella'. The outside of the box is cut from a book of Grimms Fairy Tales although it's not actually Cinderella the castle still fits well with the theme. Inside I glued white paper for the ceiling and created a chandelier from beaded trim. The walls are a pretty red and white printed paper whilst the floor is wood-patterned paper. Around the edges I glued lace trim. The shoe itself is a piece of clear plasting from some sort of packaging. The silver outline is from a border sticker that I just reshaped as I stuck it down.

Finally I made a bookmark out of thick patterned card. I cut out twelve shoes for the 'Twelve Dancing Princesses' and attached six to each side using foam pads. I think the overall effect is quite nice.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

I started by making something based on their favourite quote "You like pain? Try wearing a corset." I covered a piece of cardboard in green pattered paper an cut a corset shape from the same paper used in the 'Cinderella' miniature. The quotes were stamped onto blue card and double-sided-taped into place. I gathered the lace trim using thread and carefully glued it onto the corset for more detail. Around each edge of the board is a piece of lace trim to finish off the look.

I'm rather proud of this tiny Captain Jack Sparrow as he is only about the size of my first finger. As with the other figure he is made of a pompom, pipe cleaners and felt along with beaded eyes. He took around 2 hours to make as his clothes are all hand stitched. I think he looks quite charming as a tiny little figure to sit on your desk.

Lastly I made this elasticated beaded bracelet. The colours are based on her three favourites which I think go well together. The charm is a scrabble tile with her first name initial. I glued this onto a small silver tube bead so it could sit on the back of her hand as she wears the bracelet.

So that's all for now folks, stay tuned for more swap goodness when I get my packages from both of these swaps and to see what I'm sending other partners.
